The Pride in Place area has grown
The Government has approved our request to extend the Central Lowestoft Pride in Place boundary, bringing even more of the town into the programme.
The new boundary takes in both sides and the full length of our town centre and historic high street, along with more of the places that matter locally, including East Coast College and the Players Theatre. It also tidies up the edges so you no longer get one part of a street in and the rest left out.
This means more residents, businesses and community groups are now part of the £20 million ten-year programme and can have a say in how the money is spent.

Up to £1,000 available to help Central Lowestoft communities have their say
16.09.2026
Calling all local groups and organisations in Central Lowestoft.
Do you work with people whose voices don't always get heard? We'd love your help to reach them. There is funding of up to £1,000 to make it happen.
Pride in Place is investing £20 million in Central Lowestoft over the next ten years. How that money is spent has to be shaped by residents, so we want to hear from as many people as possible, especially those who wouldn't usually fill in a survey or come to a public meeting.
We're offering grants of £250 to £1,000 for organisations to have those conversations for us. It can be as simple as a chat with a group you already meet or something more creative like a workshop or art project. You know your people best.
Funding is limited and the current deadline for quotations is midnight on 1st October. Please read the guidance document and then complete the quotation form.

Pride in Place team meets the community at Sunrise Film Festival
26.08.2026
The Pride in Place team spent time with local residents at Sunrise Film Festival last weekend, continuing our conversations about the future of Central Lowestoft.
The festival brought film lovers and filmmakers from across the world to Lowestoft, alongside the local community. With attendees travelling from as far afield as Korea and Los Angeles, it was a great example of how events like this can put Lowestoft on an international stage while bringing people together locally. (Sunrise Film Festival link?)
Our team was there on Friday and Saturday to talk to people about Pride in Place and hear their thoughts on what matters most to them and how they would like to see the £20 million investment in Central Lowestoft make a difference.
It was a great opportunity to meet people in a relaxed setting and have some really positive and thought-provoking conversations about the area. We heard a range of views, ideas and aspirations for the future — all of which will help inform the work of the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board as the programme develops.
Community engagement is at the heart of Pride in Place. There will be more opportunities to get involved and share your views over the coming months, so please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.
Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk to us and shared their thoughts.
